What is a community foundation?
A Community Foundation is a publicly supported philanthropic organization with the long term goal of building permanent funds and establishing funds for donors and their charitable interests for the well-being of the total community.
Serving the community since 1996
The Shelby Community Foundation has raised over $1.57 million, awarded $116,000 in scholarships, granted over $588,000 for community programs and has established over $636,000 in endowments.
The Shelby Community Foundation awards grants three times a year. Grant applications are due February 1st, June 1st, and October 1st.
Scholarships are given each year to high school seniors who are Shelby Township residents.
