The Shelby Community Foundation makes available scholarships for all higher education beyond high school including community colleges and trade schools. The 2017 Scholarship application forms are in the attachments at the bottom if this page and can be downloaded. The deadline for submitting an application is April 1, 2017.

Who can apply

Applicants must be a Shelby Township resident but do not have to attend a school in Shelby Township. Applicants must also be a graduating high school senior.

How to apply

Please download the three SCF Scholarship forms in the attachments below.  These forms are in the PDF format. Follow the directions in the SCF Application Instructions form. Each student is asked to complete the Shelby Community Foundation (SCF) Scholarship Application and to write an essay. Applicants must also include two SCF Applicant Appraisal Forms and official high school transcripts. The deadline for submission is April 1, 2017.

Scholarships available

The Shelby Community Foundation has several funds that provide scholarships. Some scholarships have additional criteria (such as field of study) set when the scholarship fund was established. The number of scholarships available varies from year to year; most scholarships awarded are for $1,000.00.

The review process

Scholarship recipients are selected based on financial need, community involvement, and reasonable expectation that the student will succeed. As mentioned above, some scholarships have additional criteria (such as field of study). Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Students selected to receive scholarships will be notified by mail or phone and the scholarship may be awarded at your school’s award’s program.

Applications are also available at high school guidance offices.
